Song: Fishing for Surprises

Version 1

Headed down to the water
Woke up this morning, grabbed my trusty rod,
Headed down to the water, to the fishing spot I love.
Cast my line into the blue, just a-waitin’ for a bite,
But what I reeled in, well, it gave me quite a fright.

Headed down to the water
Fishing for surprises
Never know what I’ll catch when the bobber’s wavin’ free.
Could be a cod or salmon, or something more bizarre,
Out here, you never know what you’ll find.

Headed down to the water
First came a leather boot, all soggy and worn down,
Then a bowl without a spoon, just floatin’ round and round.
Pulled up some rotten flesh, gave me quite a scare,
Thought I’d caught a zombie, but lucky he wasn’t there.

Headed down to the water
Fishing for surprises
Never know what I’ll catch when the bobber’s wavin’ free.
Could be a pufferfish with a deadly little sting,
Out here, you never know what the day will bring.

Headed down to the water
Caught an odd enchanted book, but the words were hard to read,
Maybe it holds a secret or a magic spell I need.
Pulled up a water bottle, empty as can be,
Who’d go and throw that back, I just don’t believe.

Headed down to the water
A stick and a lily pad, driftin’ from the shore,
Caught ’em both by accident, I was hopin’ for much more.
Then I felt a heavy tug, thought it might be treasure,
But it was just an old, wooded bowl, ain’t that a pleasure?

Headed down to the water
Fishing for surprises,
Never know what I’ll catch when the bobber’s wavin’ free.
Could be a treasure, or just another trick,
Out here, you never know what’s on that fishin’ stick.

Headed down to the water
So I’ll keep on fishin’, with hope and curiosity,
Might catch a gem or rubbish, but it’s all the same to me,
‘Cause fishin’ for surprises is just where I wanna be.

Headed down to the water
Down to the water
Heading on down
