Version 1

Started out with a plan so grand,
Castle in the sky, a whole new land,
Bit off more than I could chew,
Lost in blocks with so much left to do.
In over my head, out of my depth,
Every corner I turn feels like there’s nothing left,
Burning the candle at both ends, it’s true,
Overextending myself in a world of blue.
Thought I could build like a pro,
Stacking bricks and stone, row by row,
But my towers lean, and my walls aren’t straight,
Getting ahead of myself, now it’s too late.
I’m in over my head, I’m out of my depth,
Every corner I turn feels like there’s nothing left,
I’m burning the candle at both ends, it’s true,
Overextending myself in a world of blue.
Creepers and zombies come out at night,
Still trying to get my castle right,
Wish I’d started small, a humble abode,
Stuck in survival mode.
So I step back, take a breath or two,
Think about the work that I must undo,
Scale it down, make it something new,
‘Cause I know now not to bite off more than I can chew.
In over my head, out of my depth,
Every corner I turn feels like there’s nothing left,
Burning the candle at both ends, it’s true,
Overextending myself in a world of blue.
From now on, take it slow,
One block at a time is how I’ll grow,
No more biting off more than I can chew,
Just a builder with a dream and a better view.
