(Verse 1)
‘Twas the blocky night before Christmas, in Minecraft’s great land,
Not a creature was stirring, not even an Enderman.
The chests were all filled by the furnace with care,
In hopes that dear Santa soon would be there.
(Verse 2)
The villagers nestled, all snug in their beds,
While visions of emeralds danced in their heads.
And I in my armor, with my sword in my hand,
Had just settled in on the snowy white sand.
(Chorus)
Oh, the blocky night, so silent and bright,
A Christmas Eve in pixels, all glowing with light.
With mobs all at bay and the stars up above,
A world filled with wonder, adventure, and love.
(Verse 3)
When out by the plains, there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
To the window of glass, I flew like a flash,
Breaking a block in my hurried dash.
(Verse 4)
The moon on the frost of the new-fallen snow
Lit up the world in a mystical glow.
When, what did my curious eyes behold,
But a sleigh made of Redstone, and presents of gold!
(Chorus)
Oh, the blocky night, so silent and bright,
A Christmas Eve in pixels, all glowing with light.
With mobs all at bay and the stars up above,
A world filled with wonder, adventure, and love.
(Verse 5)
With a driver so jolly, a laugh big and round,
I knew in a moment, it must be Notch’s sound!
More rapid than phantoms, his helpers they came,
And he whistled and shouted and called them by name:
(Bridge)
“Now, Zombie! Now, Creeper! Now, Spider and Skeleton!
On, Slimes! On, Enderman! On, Villager’s golem!
To the top of the village, to the mountain so steep,
Let’s deliver these gifts while everyone sleeps!”
(Verse 6)
So up to the rooftops, his helpers they flew,
With packs full of loot and Redstone dust too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the stone
The prancing and pawing of mobs of my own!
(Verse 7)
I drew back my sword and was turning around,
When down the chimney, Notch came with a bound.
He was dressed in iron, from his head to his foot,
And his armor was tarnished with ashes and soot.
(Chorus)
Oh, the blocky night, so silent and bright,
A Christmas Eve in pixels, all glowing with light.
With mobs all at bay and the stars up above,
A world filled with wonder, adventure, and love.
(Verse 8)
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his task,
Filling each chest without needing to ask.
Then laying a finger beside his capped head,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he sped.
(Outro)
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like a fired-up missile.
But I heard him exclaim, as he vanished from sight,
“Merry Christmas, dear Minecrafter, and to all, a good night!”
