Humble News, Volume 3

Humbugs have been busy this week, experimenting with what can be done, or delicately manipulated, in the Overworld now that the End dimension has been freed. For so long the End stood as a dragon-bound ceiling on possibility; a barrier that kept mechanics, energies, and ambitions contained. But with the dragon defeated, something subtle has shifted.

Redstone contraptions are humming. This week has been less about conquest, and more about curiosity.

Our local kelp factory is cooking up some fresh kelp all day and night.

This week the Oxidized One was harder to find than usual. The hints pointed to an unfinished scholar’s fortress. After plenty of searching, one Humbug finally found him, tucked away in the walls of a humble castle. He was still hiding in his spot as Zanjo left him hidden for another Humbug to discover. The wizard has now found and hid the golem! The game is afoot.

The Cauterion has appeared! But what does it mean… ?

Making sunsets even better.

The Pirates of Pizzaz have taken over the spawn area. There are boats, boats, and more boats!

Far from spawn, on an island safely removed from wandering creepers and late night skeletons, a new shopping district is being created. All the Humbug experiments are paying off and many have found themselves with an excess of materials they are willing to sell or trade. Shops have begun to open their doors, so if you’re looking to visit, take the magnificent red mushroom hall down in the under world, and enter the portal and bring your diamonds! (Or stacks of dirt for the mud shop!)

New locations added to map! Below are just a few… and new maps for the Overworld and the End.

Minecraft version 26! We had a little server downtime while clients and servers all updated. Read more about it from the team at Minecraft.

And now for the “boring stuff”… we are now backing up the server daily at 10:15 AM PST; and the server will automatically reboot nightly at 3:00 AM PST. You might see a little performance hit during backups… and the server will kick you off during the reboot process. Sorry, not sorry… performance and stability are worth it.
