Every server project starts with a humble idea, but takes organization, collaboration, and a steady hand to turn those ideas into something great. With the Humble Project Manager (HPM) election underway, we asked each candidate the same set of questions about their leadership style, infrastructure plans and vision for future projects. Below you’ll find their responses in their own words (or their proxy’s.) Read through these, consider their ideas and get ready to cast your vote March 10th!
Questions we asked the candidates:
- Infrastructure: what infrastructure projects do you think the server needs right now and how would you organize the community to help complete them?
- Delegation: the HPM wall requires bringing people together rather than doing everything yourself. How would you delegate tasks and encourage players with different skills in place styles to collaborate on projects?
- Builds: sometimes builds the gentle direction to fit the server vision and code or they have been abandoned. How would you kindly guide a build that needs it while still respecting the builders creativity and effort?
Nauti’s Answers
Infrastructure
Right now the infrastructure situation on this server? Folks, it’s not good. I mean really not good. Roads that are not finished, portals not linking, bridges just floating in the ocean. Under a Nauti administration we’re going to fix that fast. Beautiful roads, incredible tunnels, maybe even canals. And yes, there will be a very fair three-tiered tax plan to fund it—very smart system, people are already saying it’s genius. And of course a few tasteful toll roads. Nothing crazy. Just a small fee to enjoy the finest infrastructure HumbleCraft has ever seen.
Delegation
Delegation is something I’m extremely good at. Some people say the best. Builders will build, redstoners will redstone, and resource gatherers will gather enormous quantities of materials—really tremendous piles of materials. I’ll appoint the best people to lead teams and make sure things get done quickly and efficiently. And of course the taxes and toll roads from our infrastructure plan will help keep these projects moving. Some leaders try to do everything themselves. Not me. I run a very organized operation. Very efficient. The most efficient.
Builds
Creativity is very important on HumbleCraft. I love creativity. Some of the most creative people anywhere are right here on this server. But occasionally a build appears that… let’s be honest… maybe shouldn’t have appeared. Maybe it’s abandoned. Maybe it doesn’t quite match the vision. In those cases I’ll start with a friendly conversation. Very respectful. Very fair. But if the situation continues, sometimes leadership requires difficult decisions. And sometimes those decisions involve a little TNT and a fresh start. Not something I want to do… but something I’m absolutely willing to do for the good of the server. Tremendous results every time.

Infrastructure
I believe way finding, mapping, and travel are the most important infrastructure concerns. This includes building more paths, creating railways, improving directional signage, and continuing to work on the map. For the map, I’ve proposed trying to use different markers for different things. We are currently gathering portal locations to test this idea out.
Delegation
I have an idea for an expert committee, where people are appointed as a mentor/leader in different types of skills. So we could have a master builder, a railway tycoon, a potion master, redstone master, adventurers that scout the server, and so on. I think it would be good to highlight everyone’s skills and how they can help everyone on the server. I also like the idea of people having mock businesses, like Two Wolves Realty or Dragon Pest Control. Just adds a fun element to the game.
Builds
The first thing that would help with this is making sure builds are being registered on the build map. Then we need a design standard somewhere so people have an idea of what areas should follow a given design. I do feel that people in their own areas should be able to pick whatever design elements they feel works for them. If something seems to be lagging in build time,I would reach out to the builder and see if they need help with anything. Since it’s a cozy environment, no need to push too hard on any one thing. Abandoned projects could be listed off to other users to see if anyone wants to complete it or do something else with the space.

Infrastructure
- The Waterways- For newer players that don’t have elytra or good armor the roads that are built are still very dangerous to travel. So, I propose we have either a above ground aqueduct that stops at each base or an underground Ice pathway. Any other ideas are happily welcome.
- Redoing the Main End Island- This is relatively simple I’d like to tear down the pillars after we get the max number of portals spawned in and spawn proof it so we can make a public enderman farm for exp and pearls.
- Sky Sign- I would like to construct a sign for the server in the sky that spells out HumbleCraft.
Delegation
Everyone on the server is amazing for helping other players currently, however I would like a document for player specialties like Jellyfish’s aquatic specialties or Neiloroses nether portal expertise, there’s many other players that have things that they are great at, but this is who came to mind first as an example.
Builds
It depends on the situation, so I’d first ask around to see who built or is building it and then; Ask if it’s still being worked on and if they need any materials to help finish it. If it is no longer going to be worked on and is abandoned less than half finished, I would tear it down and redistribute the supplies into the public resources. If it’s mostly finished but abandoned, I would do my best to finish it using what materials are there or make it look like a ruined structure like an ancient temple.

Infrastructure
I feel like we need better labels on the nether tunnels, as well as lodestones to locate other player’s bases easily. I would encourage the community to donate resources, and likely try to do as much of the work I can myself, but definitely asking for help once I’ve laid the groundwork.
Delegation
I would guide them to sort of what I envision, as well as share some inspiration, but mostly give them full creative liberties.
Builds
Assuming builds don’t fit the area, I would kindly tell them that it doesn’t quite fit in, and tell them what sort of vibe that we going for.

Infrastructure, Delegation, and Builds
I want to first state that we already have an awesome leader and admin, Chief! But I already proposed a minecart system to provide safe travels from key locations to key locations similar to that of a transit system. Each line would have two rail systems one for heading towards and one coming to so we can have a steady flow of traffic there are powered minecarts as well so we can run freight to better supply builds. The server needs more uniformed signs to provide adequate directions for players. I would like to see them look more like the ones we have at spawn similar to the look of a trailhead for hiking. After we are done with current projects and builds I would like to encourage humbugs to work together from planning, material gathering and construction to provide more efficiency towards our projects. Even though we have a great community I just want to see more harmony and structure to our community in general our SMP does need some spit and polish. And as you know I prefer being a more independent player that watches over things and is more or less server guardian and protector. So I created mossy as the face of my campaign because I am not one for the limelight. So Vote 4 mossy for HPM!

Infrastructure
I think the best infrastructure projects are the ones that make the server easier and nicer for everyone to use. I’d also love to keep improving community areas like the shopping district with clearer paths, lighting, and signs so new players can find their way around easily. Another type of infrastructure I care about is beautification. Something I enjoy doing is planting flowers and adding landscaping that makes places feel alive. I’d love to organize community flower planting days or small beautification projects so shared spaces feel welcoming and intentional rather than empty.
Delegation
The HPM role really isn’t about one person doing everything, it’s about helping people work together. When organizing a project, I would break it into smaller pieces like planning, gathering materials, building structures, landscaping, and detailing. Then I’d invite people to take the parts that match their strengths or interests. I think projects turn out better when different styles come together. I’d also try to make sure people get credit for what they contributed. When players feel like their work is seen and appreciated, they’re much more excited to collaborate on the next project.
Builds
If a build needs a little direction to fit the area or server vision, I’d frame it as collaboration. For example, suggesting small changes that help it fit the surroundings better, offering help finishing parts of it, or even organizing a build day if the project has been abandoned. I think the goal is to respect the builder’s creativity while helping the build succeed as part of the larger world we’re all creating together. When people feel supported instead of criticized, they’re usually happy to work together to make something even better.

As you consider the candidates and their ideas for the future of the server, take a moment to think about who you believe will best support our community and help it thrive. On March 10th, head over to the voting booth built by Cosmic Dragon, located near the H at spawn, to cast your vote. Simply drop the concrete powder color that corresponds with your chosen candidate into the booth and make your voice heard. Voting will be open for one day only, and the results will be revealed the following day. Choose wisely, and may the best Humbug win!
