There’s nothing quite like stepping away for a quick trip, opening your phone on the flight back, and realizing the news anchor has been replaced by a wildcard in a jester hat. While I was off-grid last week, the HumbleCraft news segment suffered a minor…okay, maybe slightly larger than minor, security breach courtesy of Jester. Now that I’m back at my desk and the travel dust has settled, it’s time to sort through what actually happened while I was away.
There seems to be something not so humble afoot on HumbleCraft. Everywhere I looked after logging back in, towering mega-builds were scraping the sky in what feels like an unannounced race to world height. Case in point: our ever-evolving Guardian farm thanks to SiphonicChief. Calling it a simple “farm” at this point feels like an understatement. It’s practically its own vertical city now, complete with thriving commerce, guest quarters, and a footprint that climbs higher every time I visit. If this is where the server is heading while I’m away, I might need to start building upwards just to keep up.
Not to be outdone, ChillWildBill’s spruce tree build is an awe-inspiring, spiraling monument that is as beautiful as it is dangerous for anyone foolish enough to visit without Feather Falling IV or an Elytra. One wrong step on that winding canopy, and you’re taking a fast trip back to your spawn point. It seems like everywhere you turn on HumbleCraft right now, the sheer scale of these projects is completely redefining what it means to build here.
Speaking of ChillWildBill, he just did the unthinkable. In a shock to absolutely everyone, Bill identified a resource Xrogg actually lacked and gifted him a full shulker of sand. Why does Xrogg need that much silica? We suspect he’s mixing it with gravel in preparation for the arrival of concrete stairs and slabs. Just like the wider Minecraft player base, the Humbugs are buzzing with excitement, and maybe a little bit of disbelief, at the new building blocks coming in the next update!
Fitting right in with the server’s huge ambitions, a giant lantern build (by the GreenWizard himself) has taken over a plot in the shopping district, stocked with iron and copper lighting. I couldn’t resist and immediately bought six stacks on my first day back on the server. Looking around at the towering builds and the newly energized gaming district, one thing is clear: we need power. It is prime time for a Humbug to make a fortune by opening a proper Redstone component shop.
First in line for that Redstone shop would almost certainly be Gizario, who might have actually burned through more Redstone than even Xrogg while building his new game in the gaming district. Checking out the latest progress on my tour, I saw that the Colosseum is now filled with lava and looks dangerously close to testing everyone’s “no-death” streaks. I am genuinely looking forward to playing—and inevitably dying—since I’ve already earned my death badge on HumbleCraft and have absolutely nothing left to lose.
The one Humbug actually sticking to the “Humble” code is, of course, our HPM. She’s been hard at work on a mini golf course for the gaming district, and the first two holes are already complete. Ingeniously, ZanjoBanjo is progress-theming the course based on classic Minecraft game progression. Hole 1 starts as humbly as it gets: “The First Night.” It captures that iconic experience every Minecrafter knows by heart, waiting out the night in a dirt hole to hide from creepers while desperately wishing for a third sheep to make a bed. Humbugs should head over to the Gaming Island and test out the new mini-golf holes!
